The Story of Sol De Oriente (Coming soon)

There are cigars born from factories.
Then there are cigars born from heritage.

Sol De Oriente was created to honor the spirit of old world tobacco craftsmanship, inspired by the warmth of the rising sun over the rich volcanic lands of Nicaragua, where generations of tobacco growers have cultivated some of the finest leaf in the world.

In the early morning hours, before the heat settles over the valleys, the tobacco fields glow beneath a golden horizon. Locals often describe it as the first fire of the day, the moment the eastern sun breathes life into the earth. From this atmosphere, tradition, and respect for the land, Sol De Oriente draws its identity.

Crafted as a true Nicaraguan puro, the blend is rooted in strength, balance, and refinement. The tobacco is selected from fertile growing regions known for producing leaves with deep character, natural sweetness, and rich complexity. Every leaf is chosen not simply for flavor, but for harmony, creating a smoking experience that evolves smoothly from beginning to end.

The wrapper delivers a warm sun grown richness with notes of cedar, earth, roasted espresso, and subtle spice. Beneath it lies a carefully aged combination of Nicaraguan binder and long fillers designed to create a medium to full bodied profile that remains smooth, elegant, and controlled throughout the smoke.

Sol De Oriente represents heritage, craftsmanship, and tradition. It reflects a slower pace and an appreciation for quality built by hand. Inspired by the romance of classic Havana culture and the enduring spirit of Latin tradition, Sol De Oriente was created for those who appreciate the ritual behind a fine cigar, the conversation, the reflection, the celebration, and the quiet confidence that comes with timeless quality.

Every detail reflects this philosophy. From the construction and presentation to the burn and aroma, the cigar is intended to feel refined, intentional, and memorable. It is not rushed. It is experienced.

For some, Sol De Oriente becomes the perfect companion to an evening pour. For others, it becomes part of tradition, shared among friends, family, and stories that deserve to last longer than the moment itself.

At its core, Sol De Oriente is a tribute to the rising sun, the richness of Nicaragua, and the enduring legacy of handcrafted tobacco.

A cigar built not for trends, but for legacy.

Our story

Remedios Cigars was born from a deep respect for heritage, craftsmanship, and the timeless traditions of old-world tobacco culture.

Inspired by the historic countryside surrounding Remedios and Santa Clara, Cuba, the brand pays tribute to the generations of farmers, rollers, and families whose lives revolved around the tobacco fields of the Caribbean. In these regions, cigar making was never simply a business, it was a way of life built on patience, pride, and tradition.

At the center of the story is Remedios, a woman born in Santa Clara, Cuba, in 1929. Her resilience, elegance, and devotion to family became symbolic of an entire generation that carried its traditions and culture forward through hardship, migration, and change. Remedios Cigars was created to honor that spirit.

Every detail of the brand reflects that heritage:
Rustic presentation. Handcrafted simplicity. Vintage-inspired artistry. A return to authentic cigar culture untouched by modern excess.

The cigars themselves are crafted using premium tobaccos inspired by the classic traditions of Caribbean and Central American blending — smooth, refined, earthy, and balanced.

Flor del Campo

“Flower of the Field”

Flor del Campo represents the soul of the countryside.

The name comes from the wildflowers that naturally grew alongside the tobacco farms and dirt roads surrounding the fields. To the workers and families who cultivated tobacco, those flowers symbolized beauty and life among the long harvest days.

Flor del Campo was created to embody humble elegance and traditional craftsmanship. Wrapped with rustic character and inspired by old-world farming culture, the blend delivers a smooth, balanced smoking experience rooted in simplicity and authenticity.

It is a tribute to the land itself — the fields, the flowers, and the generations who worked beneath the Caribbean sun.

Sol de Oriente

“Sun of the East”

Sol de Oriente represents strength, warmth, and the rising spirit of tradition.

Inspired by the first light breaking across the tobacco fields each morning, the name symbolizes the sunrise illuminating the farms, curing barns, horses, rolling carts, and workers who gave life to cigar culture for generations.

This blend captures the richness and depth of traditional tobacco craftsmanship while honoring the perseverance of the people behind it. Bold yet refined, Sol de Oriente reflects the enduring beauty of early mornings in the countryside — where hard work, heritage, and passion met with every harvest.

Together, Flor del Campo and Sol de Oriente represent two chapters of the same story:
A legacy of family.
A respect for craftsmanship.
And a timeless dedication to the art of cigar making.

Remedios Cigars exists to preserve that tradition for a new generation — honoring the romance, authenticity, and soul of classic cigar culture.

Our history

The History of Remedios Cigars

Remedios Cigars traces its inspiration to the rich tobacco heritage of the town of Remedios, Cuba — one of the oldest tobacco-growing regions in the Caribbean. Long before modern cigar factories dominated the market, families in the fertile countryside surrounding Remedios cultivated tobacco using traditional farming methods passed down through generations.

The story behind Remedios Cigars is rooted in craftsmanship, migration, and legacy. The brand draws heavily from the traditions of old-world Cuban tobacco culture, where cigars were not simply products, but symbols of patience, family pride, and agricultural artistry.

At the heart of the inspiration is a family legacy connected to Remedios, Cuba, and the image of tobacco fields surrounded by wildflowers, rolling countryside, and hand-built curing barns. The story reflects the journey of Cuban tobacco families who carried their rolling techniques, blending philosophies, and cultural identity beyond Cuba during the political and economic changes of the 1950s and 1960s.

Remedios Cigars embraces that old-world spirit:

  • Handcrafted presentation
  • Twine-wrapped cigars instead of modern flashy bands
  • Traditional box art inspired by Cuban heritage
  • Rustic agricultural imagery
  • Small-batch philosophy
  • Emphasis on storytelling and craftsmanship over mass production

The blends themselves are inspired by the smooth yet complex smoking experiences associated with classic Cuban-style cigars  medium-bodied, aromatic, earthy, and balanced. While modern Remedios blends may incorporate premium Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos, the soul of the brand remains tied to Cuban tradition and the romance of historic tobacco farming.

The “Sol de Oriente” line represents another chapter in that story  inspired by the warmth of the Caribbean sun rising over tobacco fields and the hardworking farmers who cultivated tobacco from sunrise to sunset. The name symbolizes resilience, heritage, and the enduring spirit of cigar craftsmanship.

More than a cigar brand, Remedios Cigars is intended to feel like a preserved piece of history:
a tribute to the farmers, rollers, and families who built cigar culture through skill, sacrifice, and tradition.

Our signature blend

Classic collection

Flor Del Campo -

To appreciate the Flor del Campo, one must first acknowledge the architectural brilliance of its composition—a masterclass in Dominican blending draped in the rarest of "fragile gold".

The centerpiece of this exquisite vitola is its Cameroon wrapper, a leaf of unparalleled pedigree. Sourced from the mineral-rich volcanic soils of West Africa, this leaf is distinguished by its signature "toothy" texture tiny, crystallized pockets of essential oils that resemble delicate goosebumps upon the surface. These oils are the crucible of the cigar's flavor, imparting a sophisticated bouquet of toasted cedar, baking spices, and a nuanced, natural sweetness that dances across the palate.

Beneath this delicate exterior lies a carefully assembled core of Dominican long-filler leaves. These components are secured by a binder leaf chosen to maintain structural integrity and ensure an even, measured burn throughout the experience. This internal architecture is designed to create a harmonious balance; the characteristics of the Dominican filler provide a substantial base that complements the qualities of the Cameroon wrapper without overwhelming the more subtle elements of the blend.

The physical construction reflects a high level of craftsmanship, resulting in a firm draw and a consistent volume of smoke. The interaction between the various regions of tobacco creates a multifaceted profile that evolves as the heat progresses. This meticulous assembly results in a medium-to-full-bodied character, characterized by a refined finish that highlights the agricultural heritage of the Dominican Republic. Such attention to the structural compound of the cigar serves as a tribute to traditional blending techniques.

A medium-bodied blend with notes of cedar, leather, and a hint of spice. Perfect for a smooth and sophisticated smoke.

A Robust with complex cigar with notes of espresso, black pepper, and an earthy aroma. Ideal for evening indulgence.

The Draw

Expect a velvety, responsive draw that offers just enough resistance to prevent the smoke from becoming hot, while remaining open enough to provide a generous volume of thick, aromatic clouds. The construction usually ensures a "friendly" airflow that requires little effort to maintain, allowing the complex notes of the Cameroon wrapper to fully saturate the palate.

The Burn

  • Precision and Rate: The burn is characterized by its steadiness and symmetry, often referred to as a "razor-sharp" or "straight" burn line that rarely requires manual correction.
  • Ash Quality: It typically yields a firm, tight, and light-grey ash that stacks in elegant, "nickel-like" layers. This structural integrity is a hallmark of high-quality Dominican bunching, indicating that the long-filler leaves have been expertly aligned.
  • Thermal Consistency: Throughout the experience, the cigar tends to maintain a cool combustion temperature, preserving the delicate oils of the thin Cameroon leaf and preventing any bitterness from creeping in before the final nub.

The Soul of Remedios

The "old world" technique that defines this cigar is a direct inheritance from the Remedios region of Cuba, one of the island's oldest and most revered tobacco-growing zones. This is the land where the centuries-old traditions of cigar rolling and fermentation were first perfected. The expertise applied to the Flor del Campo reflects the meticulous hand-rolling methods and patient aging processes that have been passed down through generations of Cuban tabaqueros.

A Legacy Refined

The inclusion of these traditional techniques ensures that the Dominican long-fillers are not merely bunched, but orchestrated with a precision that honors the pioneering spirit of the original masters.

  • Old World Fermentation: The tobacco undergoes a natural, slow-heat fermentation, a method famously preserved by those who honed their craft in Cuba.
  • Artisanal Construction: Every vitola is a tribute to the artistic philosophy that a cigar is not a product, but a unique piece of art, crafted by skilled hands who understand the living nature of the leaf.

By merging the volcanic richness of the Cameroon wrapper with the disciplined technique of the Remedios lineage, the Flor del Campo stands as a bridge between historic Cuban excellence and modern blending brilliance.

The Flor del Campo provides a sophisticated flavor journey characterized by the signature "spicy-sweet" interplay of its authentic Cameroon wrapper. This African leaf is prized for its high oil content, which translates into a complex bouquet of toasted cedar, cinnamon, and baking spices.

The Flavor Progression

  • Initial Third: The experience typically opens with a bright, mellow mix of toasted oak and light creaminess. A gentle natural sweetness often emerges early, accompanied by faint hints of coffee and nuts.
  • Second Third: As the cigar matures, the profile deepens. The Dominican fillers introduce floral fragrances and subtle cocoa notes. The spice profile often transitions from light cinnamon to a slightly sharper white pepper or mild ginger.
  • Final Third: The finish is generally long and elegant, featuring lingering notes of dark chocolate, leather, and earth. The Cameroon influence remains the star, ensuring that even as the body builds toward medium-full, it never loses its characteristic sweetness or toasty finish.

This profile makes the Flor del Campo particularly well-suited for a morning pairing with strong coffee or an after-dinner balanced whiskey, where the spirit can highlight the wrapper's spice.
